TECHNICAL / RESEARCH ANALYST:
Job Title: Nanotechnology Research Analyst.
Description of the job:
The researcher will take into account the competition for
each particular nanotechnology, of existing (nano-) technologies
as well as other emerging (nano-) technologies. Those technologies
will be analyzed and included in the models to estimate how
each particular nanotechnology is competing for market share
with other alternatives. The researcher will have a broad
technical background to understand the different nanotechnologies
and its applications on each sector. The researcher will preferably
have experience on the nanotechnology field.
Reporting line:
Nanotechnology Analyst has to report to the Chief Operating
Officer.
Areas of Responsibility:
1. Research areas:
• The researcher will conduct market research on the
different applications of the various nanotechnologies.
• He/She will be responsible for the development of the
methodology and models used to calculate the market figures
and estimates for the future.
• The methodology will be based on information gathered
through research on Internet, surveys, interviews with expertise
& specialized publications and organizations (industry
& trade associations, banks, consultants, etc.).
• The researcher will contact expertise on each field
& perform interviews within key players on nanotechnology
and major producers (executives and researchers) working on
the development and commercialization of the different nanotechnologies.
• The information will be gathered, analyzed and contrasted
with economic data from expert organizations in each industrial
sector.
• Passion for understanding the value of new technologies
and developments in science.
2. Qualifications:
• Ideally educated to Masters level or above, and/or
have some relevant industrial experience.
• Interest and some understanding of the potentials and
issues surrounding nanotechnology.
• Entrepreneurial flair and a good sense of humor.
